Bill Press is Coming to Columbus
Bill Press will be in Columbus to promote his new book Trainwreck: The End of the Conservative Revolution. WVKO will host a book signing and dinner party with Bill Press Thursday, May 15th at 6:00 PM at the Florentine Restaruant, 907 West Broad Street in Columbus. Admission is $25 and includes an Italian dinner buffet. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
The Bill Press Show will air live from Columbus Friday, May 16th from 6:00 to 9:00 AM. Be a part of the live audience at the Plumbers’ and Pipefitters’ Local 189 Union Hall, 1250 Kinnear Road. Radio Outlook
The Blue State Diner moves to its new time at 1 PM on Saturdays. Debuting at noon on Saturdays is Radio Outlook, hosted by Chris Hayes and Michael Daniels of Outlook Weekly. Radio Outlook is Ohio’s only radio talk show by and for the GLBT community. The debut show will feature representatives from the Columbus Aids Task Force, talking about the bi-annual fundraiser, Art for Life. Then Chris and Michael will be taking your calls. Tune in for Radio Outlook!
Clippers Games Now On WVKO

Columbus, Ohio – The Clippers have announced that Ohio’s Progressive Talk, WVKO 1580 AM, will serve as the baseball club’s flagship radio station this season.WVKO will broadcast each of the Clippers’ 144 regular season games, and all post-season games.The “Clippers Report”, a daily feature on the team, will air every weekday morning during the season.Clippers games were previously broadcast on WVKO in 2004 and 2005.Every broadcast will also be available on Time Warner Digital Cable (Channel 24), and online at www.clippersbaseball.com.Scott Leo will return for his third year as the “Voice of the Clippers”, and will be joined by Eric Welch, Craig Merz, Randy Rhinehart, and Wayne Harer throughout the season.
Randi Rhodes leaves Air America
As many of you know, Randi Rhodes resigned from Air America on April 10th. She has since signed on with Nova M Radio, another syndicator of Progressive Talk radio shows. We at WVKO-AM understand the passion of those who would like to continue to hear Randi, as well as the passion of those who side with Air America on this issue.
