    From the Air America Affiliate Relations person:

    <begin quote>

    Beginning Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 from 6:00pm-7:00pm ET, Air America Radio will simulcast nightly, “Race for The Whitehouse”, MSNBC’s newest primetime program . The show is hosted by NBC News Chief White House correspondent David Gregory, and features Air America Radio’s Rachel Maddow as a regular panelist.

    ...

    The simulcast will comprise the first hour of “The Rachel Maddow Show”, which will then continue from 7:00pm-9:00pm ET as always. We are truly excited about this new venture, and look forward to your feedback after the launch on 4/23.

    <end quote>

    Pardon me as I express some disdain:

    1) David Gregory is a rock star, not a journalist. He's more concerned with becoming a Village Elder, rather than asking the President questions which matter.

    2) Now I can hear Joe Scarborough and Chris Matthews and Pat Buchannan spew NeoCon talking points without turning on the Tee Vee

    3) So exactly when will Rachel have time to do a radio show?

    4) Why is Air America messing with success? This is a rhetorical question.

    It might be entertaining if Scarborough occasionally walks off the set during the show like he did last week.

    I suppose it could work if Rachel has a really good producer, who can prepare everything for her for hours 2-3.

    Since it is "Race to the White House," looks like it is planned only through November.

    Anyway, it will be great to have Rachel as a regular on TV, where there will be a wider spectrum of viewers than just her Air America audience. She is very bright and well spoken, overall a great representative of the progressive population.

    Well her first hour of her show is pre recorded anyway. So her show is now back to 2 hours again. This is why that I agree with Sean Gilbow that AAR is going away. Remember Sean is an advertiser on this fine radio station. There can be progressive Talk without AAR. Thom Hartman can self syndicated again like Doug Stephan did when the last progressive talk network folded I.E Radio Network. Nova M already have two former AAR talkers Mike Malloy and Randi Rhodes. When I was listen to Randi first week with Nova M she was a lot better then her AAR show. Like Buddy from Columbus says that Randi is a acquired taste.
